Vacancy Description:
Our client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to provide additional financial control for the Finance team in terms of preparation and booking of journal vouchers, reconciliation of daily bank accounts, assisting in reconciliation of assets to third party fund managers, assisting in processing payments using the online banking system and additional fraud prevention resource.
Person Specification:
· Candidates need to be from some sort of financial services background including life insurance, investments, general insurance, banking or building society background
· Strong bank reconciliation skills
· A good understanding of how a finance department functions
· Someone keen and enthusiastic looking to progress to a higher level
· Candidates must be studying towards professional accounting qualifications in either ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
· Good double-entry accounting knowledge essential
· Ability to investigate problems and resolve them quickly and accurately
· Ability to liaise with people at all levels
· Good time management / organisational skills is key
