Tax Manager required to join a growing property group due to its continued expansion. This is a permanent position based on the Isle of Man to support the Senior Tax Manager and wider tax team in respect of all tax matters (primarily review of the Group’s compliance together with a planning, advisory and project focus). With significant exposure to UK and non-UK tax matters and given the recent expansion of the business in the UK and small team size, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks and will develop a broad skill set.
The Role…
Assisting in the review of the Group’s tax compliance across all jurisdictions, including the occasional review of VAT Returns.
Tax review of management accounts and assisting with the review of the Group’s tax accounting arrangements, including tax provisioning and payments.
Technical research
Assisting with providing tax input to Group projects and advice to internal stakeholders.
Relevant taxes include UK income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax, as well as Jersey and Isle of Man tax. VAT, CIS and SDLT / LBTT are also useful and relevant to the Group; however, training can be provided for the right candidate.
Liaising with the Group’s external tax advisers to take formal advice as appropriate.
Assisting with driving forward tax projects within the tax team e.g., R&D tax credits, transfer pricing, etc.
Monitoring and advising on the impact of legislative changes for the Group.
Responding to HMRC and other tax authority enquiries.
About you…
Possess a tax qualification (ATT, CTA) with a number of years relevant post qualification experience.
Exposure to tax matters across several jurisdictions, including the UK, IOM and Jersey would be advantageous to the role, including exposure to tax planning and structuring matters.
Be able to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own projects.
Able to manage and create positive working relationships with the Group’s advisors.
Good technical research skills.
Be able to identify issues and work to find solutions as part of a small team working to tight project deadlines.
The tax team is small, and all team members work closely together. A friendly and outgoing disposition, and willingness to help others is therefore essential for the role, which would ideally suit a natural team-player.
