Job Description

Our client, an investments organisation, is seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer to join their team. If you're passionate about navigating the complex landscape of compliance, regulations, and mitigating risks, this could be the role for you!

The Role…

As a Compliance Officer, your role is pivotal in ensuring that operations in both the Isle of Man and the UK locations adhere to laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. You will:

Maintain awareness of relevant legislation and regulation, and to ensure that the business units implement changes on a timely basis
Provide pragmatic and practical regulatory interpretation, guidance and advice to the business, its managers and support functions
Assist in the establishment, implementation and maintenance of clear and concise policies, procedures, and standards for preventing, detecting and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, whilst taking a risk based, commercial and practical approach to challenges, offering appropriate solutions to the business
Manage and update the Risk & Compliance Monitoring Programme, which tests the adequacy and effectiveness of the risk framework, policies, procedures and controls and to oversee that all findings are satisfactorily remediated

About You…

Are you the Compliance Officer we're looking for? Here's what you should bring to the table:

A relevant professional qualification is essential - risk, compliance, financial crime prevention
Demonstrable experience and skill of risk and compliance functions ideally within the fund / investment industry
Working knowledge of regulatory framework and requirements of Isle of Man, UK, Ireland and South Africa
Broad based knowledge of offshore financial services industry
Excellent communication skills with well developed and confident training skills

Experience of compliance requirements for the Isle of Man.
Sound knowledge of risk principles (e.g., non-financial risk, regulatory risk, reputational risk, etc.), their applicability and impact on the business landscape.
Exposure in general banking and risk management principles.
Experience in executing projects across complex business units and matrix's

The Role...

You’ll work closely with a portfolio of gaming clients to assist in a variety of licensing, regulatory, monitoring, and compliance matters

Manage client relationships and expectations by supporting them on various compliance challenges that they may encounter and meeting their needs with pragmatic solutions
