Qualified Legal Advisor required to join an international bank on a permanent basis to manage, identify and mitigate legal risk across wealth international by providing technical legal advice and guidance to the business lines and enabling functions, ensuring compliance with legal policy and relevant legislation.
The Role...
On a day to day basis you will:
Proactively analyse and review amendments to legislation, regulations and case law to provide legal opinions to relevant internal stakeholders
Maintain legal department documentation in line with standards ensuring compliance with legislation and internal standards
Draft and vet legal documents across legal specialisations including (but not limited to) confidentiality agreements, indemnities and waivers, notices and third party service level agreements
Manage the cost of external counsel on legal matters ensuring cost remain within signed off limits
Provision of accurate, expert and specialist legal advice to business units including consultations, research, negotiation, vetting, witness preparation and/or drafting
About You...
You will be an admitted lawyer in the Isle of Man as well as:
Extensive experience within a similar In-House Legal position within banking, investment funds, trusts or other financial services department in a law firm
Experience within a financial services organisation with exposure to the drafting of legal documents or regulatory analysis and provide legal opinions
Knowledge and experience within commercial litigation
Thorough understanding of all compliance matters/commercial law
Insight into and understanding of the various laws and regulations regulating the financial services industry
The ability to advise on the development of policies and strategies on legislative matters through legislative analysis and interpretation
