Description

Play a central role in shaping regulatory compliance as a Compliance Executive supporting member practices and driving operational and internal standards across the organisation.

The Role

You will lead AML/CFT supervisory inspections and oversee internal compliance frameworks while advising the Council on regulatory matters.


  • Design implement and oversee a comprehensive compliance programme and internal controls in line with the Deed of Authorisation with the FSA

  • Maintain and continually improve the AML/CFT supervisory framework ensuring it remains risk based proportionate and aligned with regulatory expectations

  • Draft maintain and deliver the AML/CFT Supervisory Inspection Programme including all supporting documentation and reports

  • Draft maintain and update internal policies and procedures to ensure best practice standards

  • Ensure compliance with statutory objectives and align interests of stakeholders including the FSA FIU and Cabinet Office

  • Manage administrative requirements for scheduling and delivering AML/CFT inspections

  • Maintain understanding of each Practice status services and client base to support risk based supervisory approach

  • Establish and maintain effective regulatory and support relationships with MLROs of each Practice and implement effective communication channels

  • Provide oversight and quality review of evidence and written reports for sanction or enforcement purposes

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance through education and training for all member practices

  • Coordinate the annual Masterclass quarterly coffee hours and online training including AML/CFT and Data Security programmes

  • Serve as advisor to Council on emerging regulatory issues and draft formal responses to government and regulatory consultations

  • Perform horizon scanning to identify legislative changes or AML/CFT trends impacting the Isle of Man

  • Prepare the annual AML/CFT supervisory report and other reporting as required

  • Oversee internal processes ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance including data protection and internal policies

  • Lead periodic review updating and drafting of the Accounts Rules and produce supporting guidance

  • Maintain advisory log provide helpline support and supervise junior staff where required
  • Liaise with government agencies including FIU Cabinet Office National Risk Assessment working group Council FSA and others



About You

You have strong leadership skills deep regulatory knowledge and the ability to influence and support compliance culture across multiple stakeholders.


  • Strong leadership communication and decision making skills

  • Deep understanding of relevant laws regulations and industry standards

  • Proficiency in risk assessment control implementation and policy development

  • Ability to influence business practices and build a positive ethical environment internally and externally

  • Experience in AML/CFT supervision or compliance programme management is desirable

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Ability to develop and deliver training to enhance compliance culture
