Play a pivotal role at the heart of a thriving digital banking ecosystem where your expertise will shape the stability, performance and future direction of critical systems.

The Role

Take ownership of the core banking environment and drive performance, innovation and operational excellence.


  • Ensure the continuous health and operational performance of the core banking system and connected platforms

  • Monitor system behaviour, identify issues and implement preventative measures to maintain stability, accuracy and security

  • Own operational incidents from triage through to resolution, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors

  • Work closely with the Bank Product Manager and Bank Programme Manager to deliver against the product roadmap

  • Translate business requirements into operational and technical specifications

  • Engage with system vendors to assess feasibility, design solutions and support build cycles

  • Lead UAT and QA testing for new features and ensure readiness for deployment

  • Develop operational processes, procedures and training materials for transition into business as usual

  • Manage relationships with core system providers and third party partners

  • Coordinate release cycles, maintenance windows and system upgrades

  • Ensure integrations including payments, FX, online banking and APIs remain stable and aligned with business needs

  • Monitor regulatory and industry changes including ISO20022 and payment scheme updates

  • Ensure ongoing compliance and raise projects where change is required

  • Represent the Bank at relevant industry groups and forums

  • Produce meaningful MI and BI to support decision making and operational efficiency

  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation and improved straight through processing

  • Collaborate with Banking Operations, Investment Operations, Commercial teams and Product Management to deliver a high quality client experience

  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non technical stakeholders



About You

Bring deep banking systems knowledge and the confidence to lead change across a regulated environment.


  • Previous experience working with core banking systems and third party integrations including payments, FX and gateways

  • Strong understanding of banking operations including account structures, interest and tax parameters, payment cut offs, currency handling and accounting entries
  • Knowledge of online banking connectivity and straight through processing principles

  • Understanding of payment messaging formats including SWIFT, SEPA, BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments

  • Experience within a regulated banking environment, Isle of Man regulatory knowledge advantageous

  • Ability to understand system configuration, data flows and API connectivity principles

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and propose effective solutions

  • Experience supporting product development and system enhancement cycles

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and operational processes

  • Strong organisational skills to coordinate testing, releases and cross functional delivery

  • Excellent communication skills across operational and strategic levels

  • Ability to train colleagues, document processes and support knowledge transfer

  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple teams
