This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, helping to promote patient comfort, dignity and wellbeing while developing your clinical skills.

The Role

As a Health Care Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective patient care.  Working under the guidance of Registered Practitioners, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with activities of daily living, including personal care, nutrition, mobility and emotional support
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting patient observations, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure and fluid balance
  • Supporting clinical procedures such as specimen collection, basic wound care and patient assessments following appropriate training
  • Escorting patients and assisting with safe moving and handling techniques
  • Maintaining high standards of infection prevention, patient dignity, confidentiality and safety
  • Working collaboratively as part of a busy multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care, confidentiality and patient safety

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a care or healthcare setting
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Isle of Man Worker status
