A hands-on technical role supporting the management of critical data centre infrastructure and building systems
- Carry out daily data centre walk rounds ensuring compliance with internal policies and service level agreements
- Escalate and resolve technical issues via ServiceNow and coordinate with senior staff or contractors as required
- Perform hands and eye support requests for customers and maintain professional standards within critical areas
- Isolate and monitor alarms fire suppression systems and security systems including oversight of contractors during works
- Participate in an on-call rota responding to out of hours technical issues
- Assist in maintaining mechanical and electrical services as required across the estate
- Ensure contractors are authorised with appropriate permits to work and complete isolations when necessary
- Operate internal security and alarm systems and provide basic training on access control where required
About You
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of critical environments alongside excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Proven experience working in a critical equipment environment
- Knowledge of data centre structure power communications cabling and IT rack systems
- Ability to manage permits to work isolations and knowledge of fire and security systems
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Positive proactive and professional approach with the ability to work independently and meet short term goals
- Valid driving licence
