The Role
Take ownership of cloud infrastructure operations while providing expert support and guidance
- Administer, manage and provide third level support for VMware vCloud, vCenter, vSphere, storage and associated technologies
- Support Linux, Windows, SQL and other technologies
- Manage VMware NSX, physical networking, firewalls and other security devices
- Resolve complex technical issues and provide root cause analysis
- Provide professional consultancy for cloud services onboarding and infrastructure design
- Raise and manage third party support cases with appropriate escalation
- Contribute to continuous service improvement with proactive suggestions
- Mentor and guide team members in specialist technology areas
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, services and procedures
- Prioritise and manage time effectively balancing business as usual activity with projects
- Maintain and grow relationships with staff, partners and customers to enhance value
- Liaise with customers regarding virtual infrastructure, networks, migration and backup/DR strategies
- Comply with licence, regulatory, data protection and health and safety requirements
- Undertake security awareness training and follow incident reporting processes
About You
A skilled IT professional with a strong background in infrastructure and cloud technologies who thrives on problem-solving and delivering excellent customer service
- Strong knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure including hardware, operating systems, storage, virtualisation, virtual desktops and security systems
- Experience of backup and replication technologies, Microsoft AD and DNS
- Relevant qualifications such as CCNA, VCA, VCP or equivalent experience
- Proven customer service skills and confidence in dealing with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative, independence and problem-solving ability
- High levels of accuracy with excellent time management and organisational skills
- 3 or more years experience in an administration or service provider role
- Knowledge of ITIL, ISO27001 and PCI-DSS preferred
