- Plan and coordinate development activities across the team, ensuring alignment with roadmap and business priorities
- Lead or contribute to product management including roadmap planning, feature prioritisation, and requirement analysis
- Collaborate with CTO, architects, and senior engineers on system design and technical strategy
- Oversee software development practices to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions
- Maintain DevOps best practices including version control, release management, testing, traceability, and documentation
- Ensure high standards of code quality, reliability, performance, and operational resilience
- Drive Agile and Scrum practices across the development team
- Lead or support Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Continuously improve team velocity, predictability, and quality of delivery
- Line manage developers providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Support individual growth through development plans, training, and career progression
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-trust team environment
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and scaling of the development team
- Act as interface between engineering, product, operations, and leadership teams
- Support customer and partner integrations and incident management where required
- Participate in a remunerated 24 x 7 emergency on-call rota when required
About You
You are a hands on and experienced development manager who combines technical expertise with strong leadership and delivery focus.
- Proven experience as a Development Manager, Engineering Manager, or Technical Lead
- Solid understanding of API driven architectures, distributed systems, and microservices
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with hands on leadership of Agile teams
- Strong leadership skills, calm, decisive, and supportive
- Self-motivated, proactive, and delivery focused
- Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
- Values aligned with ambitious, innovative, dependable, and supportive culture
- Comfortable managing remote or distributed teams
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Familiarity with .NET/C#, cloud platforms, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines is desirable
- Experience with mission-critical, high availability systems is desirable
- Relevant Agile or technical certifications are desirable
